Software Developer III

Our Client is seeking a highly experienced Software Developer III to support legacy modernization efforts for the Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC). The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Natural and ADABAS systems, along with strong Oracle and SQL scripting experience to help migrate legacy applications and databases to a modernized architecture.

This individual will work closely with cross-functional agile teams-including developers, architects, DBAs, and business users-to assess requirements, build new Oracle table structures, and migrate and transform data from Natural ADABAS environments. Work will also include documentation, testing, and supporting business intelligence needs with Tableau.

Responsibilities:

•Perform software development for legacy modernization projects using Natural, ADABAS, Oracle, and associated tools.
•Translate user stories and business requirements into technical specifications and data migration scripts.
•Develop new Oracle 19c table structures and scripts to move data from legacy environments.
•Support, patch, and upgrade legacy systems including Natural, ADABAS, and CONNX.
•Create database views to support Tableau dashboards and reporting.
•Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and maintain documentation throughout the SDLC.
•Collaborate effectively using Microsoft Teams and other communication platforms.
•Present technical concepts and outcomes to business stakeholders and leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

•4+ years writing end-user documentation.
•Experience with:
oNearStar print management
oEntireX by SoftwareAG
oJava application environments

Required Skills

Required Skills:

•8+ years of software development experience, including both enhancement and ground-up projects.
•8+ years coding experience in:
o Natural 8.3
oADABAS 6.5
oOracle 12c/19c
oSQL
oAttachmate EXTRA!
oUnix AIX 7.2
oCronus Espbatch Job Scheduler
oSCL (JCL equivalent)
oSVN or other version control systems
• 8+ years supporting and upgrading legacy systems (Natural, ADABAS, CONNX).
•8+ years translating user requirements into technical deliverables.
•8+ years in full-cycle software development with a focus on documentation and testing.
•3+ years experience working on Agile Scrum teams.
•3+ years using Microsoft Teams or equivalent collaboration tools.
